Dr. Ken W. Tracy
SIM’s Medical Secretary
Dr. Ken W. Tracy.
He’s from New Zealand and trained as a Dentist from the University of Dunedin, New Zealand.
In early 1956 he joined SIM as a Dentist and his wife Cynthia as a teacher and came to Jos, Nigeria. After 8 years of dentistry, he developed severe back trouble and had to give up dentistry and turned to administration.
In 1963 he became SIM’s Medical Secretary for West Africa. The only full-time medical administrator in missions in Nigeria, he also worked on several medical advisory committees. He’s one of the first missionaries sent by SIM to Southern Sudan to plan an extensive relief Programme. From there he went to the US and with four officials from four sponsoring missions, set up the African Committee for the rehabilitation of the Southern Sudan (ACROSS).
He returned to Nigeria and after two weeks moved to Nairobi Kenya with his family in 1972.

Erwin Jephthah Cummins, Jr. was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 2, 1918.
He graduated from high school and began to pursue his goal of becoming a medical doctor at Texas University in E1 Paso. He transferred to Wheaton College after one year and upon graduation entered Northwestern Medical School in Chicago and became an Orthopaedic surgeon. After finishing medical school, he did his Masters in Anatomy.
He and Marge answered the call to serve in missions and on June 2, 1952 they arrived at Minna, Nigeria. He moved to Jos in 1959 as staff of Evangel Hospital and was instrumental in the starting of SIMMATS, the Medical Auxiliary Training school and was Principal of the school for 9 years.
He then moved further North to Kano Leprosarium where he became Supervisor of SIM’s 7 Leprosaria in Nigeria and Niger. Under his leadership the SIM Leprosy programme was revitalized
He moved back to Jos in 1973 and became the Medical Secretary of SIM for six years. During this time he taught Anatomy for one semester at the Jos Medical College.
He was predeceased by his son Ross and survived by his wife Marjorie, 2 daughters, three siblings, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. E. G. Mairabo
He was born in 1945 at Wamba, Nasarawa State. His parents were missionaries from Kaduna state, Nigeria.
He did his Primary school at Randa, Nasarawa State and completed at the SIM Senior Primary School 1958 – 1960.
He had his Secondary education at the SIM Secondary school Kagoro, Kaduna State, 1961 – 1965.
He obtained a Diploma in Public Admin at the Kaduna Polytechnic in 1968, Bachelor degree in public Admin University of Ife in 1976 and PGD in 1979 from Ife. He is seasoned Administrator.
He obtained a Masters in Administration (MSc) from UK in 1984 and attended several courses in health administration and management between 1979 and 1982 in UK and USA.
He had several working experiences as a teacher and administrator in government and private business.
He is married to Dorcas Mairabo and blessed with five (5) daughters.
He became the ECWA Medical Secretary/Director in 1977 to 1984 and some of his achievements include:
He pioneered the establishment of the Lab Institute at Kagoro in 1980, which was later upgraded to ECWA School of Health Technology in 1982.

He served as the ECWA Director of Medical services from 1988 – 1993
Born Ryde, NSW (Australia), in 1951.
He had his Primary and secondary school in Ryde, then medical school at Sydney University, NSW, graduating 1977. Residency and GP training in Launceston, Tasmania (Australia).
Left for Nigeria 1979. Served till 1993. From 1982 coordinator of GP Training at Evangel Hospital. From 1982 Medical Consultant for ECHP. From 1988 DMS. Returned to Launceston 1994. GP in private practice in Launceston till 2009. Called back to Nigeria to serve as SIM Nigeria Director 2010 to 2015. Now retired in Launceston.
Setting up GP training as a strategic ministry, in-service training for CHEWs and the restructure of ECHP in the early 1990's was difficult but important.
Family: He is married to Janne A. and God blessed them with 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Dr. Randal Bailey

Dr. Randal Bailey
He served as Director of Medical Services from 1995 to 1997
Randal Bailey was a New Zealander and a GP by training.
He served with SIM in Bimbereke, Benin from early 1980's till about 1993, then they moved to Nigeria.
He sadly died of cancer back in NewZealand in early 2000's. He is survived by his wife Robyn and their 3 children.
Dr. Musa Dankyau

Dr. Musa Dankyau
He was born in Gwandum, Nigeria.
He had his primary education at KLG Sabongari, Kaduna. Secondary education at Government Science secondary school Billiri, Gombe state.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery degree (MBBS) from University Teaching Hospital Jos. He is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians.
He is currently Senior Lecturer /Chief Consultant Family Physician at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital Jos.
He served as Director of Medical services from September 2000 to December 2007.
He is married and blessed with two children.

Dr. Randal Bailey
He served as Director of Medical Services from 1995 to 1997
Randal Bailey was a New Zealander and a GP by training.

Born in Banganje, Gombe State
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery degree (MBBS) from University Teaching Hospital Jos. He is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians. He did his DO at ECWA Eye Hospital Kano and Msc at Aravind Eye Hospital India.
He is a Consultant Family Physician/Ophthalmologist at Bingham University Teaching Hospital (BHUTH) Jos.
He serve as Medical Director Evangel Hospital, CMAC, BHUTH and Director ECWA Community Health Programme.
He served as Director of Medical Service from 2011 to 2014.
He is married to Funmi Lass and blessed with three children.
